Economics investigates how people and organizations make choices. These choices, when added up, translate into social choices. As an Economics major, you’ll learn how to think about behaviors and problems that exist in an economy. You’ll also learn how to analyze economic data to identify and address these problems.
As an Economics major, you’ll develop theoretical, quantitative and analytical skills that complement and enhance what you’ll learn in other business disciplines in the Driehaus College of Business.

The Economics Department also offers an Honors Track which allows you to focus more heavily on your quantitative and writing skills.
We offer a combined bachelor’s/master's in Economics and Policy Analysis, allowing you to complete a bachelor's and a graduate degree in five years.
DePaul's economics department is located at the Loop Campus in downtown Chicago, in the center of the city's financial district. Here, you'll have opportunities to intern and work professionally with leading business and government agencies.
