Biography

Michael Fernandez is a partner in FGMK’s Audit and Accounting Practice and Quality Control Department. He has experience with SEC filings for large, multi-national public companies, as well as privately held corporations across multiple industries. He specializes in auditing and inspecting accounting estimates, including entity and intangible valuations.

Fernandez's industry expertise include public and private company audits within airline, aerospace and defense; employee benefit plans; manufacturing, medical device and pharmaceutical; nonprofit; oil and gas; real estate, and technology sectors.

Fernandez began his career at Deloitte within the audit practice and later transitioned to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, serving within the Division of Registration and Inspections. In these roles, Fernandez gained extensive experience with evaluating risk assessment procedures, inspecting internal controls, and conducting assessments of a firm’s system of quality control. ​
