Biography

Barry Hollingsworth is an instructor for the Department of Finance & Real Estate ​at DePaul University. He brings practical business insight to the classroom experience. Since 2009, Hollingsworth has served as chief financial officer of Elorac Ph​armaceuticals, a specialty pharmaceutical company engaged in the development and commercialization of novel products for dermatology, allergy and oncology. At Elorac, Hollingsworth oversees the ​organization's financial strategy, including corporate finance, treasury, tax, mergers & acquisitions, banking and insurance relationships and other strategic aspects of the business.

Prior to his role at Elorac, Hollingsworth was chief financial officer of the Parent Company, based in Denver, from 2007 through 2008. From 2005 through 2007, Hollingsworth was chief financial officer of Stratos International, a technology company based in Chicago. Hollingsworth has been involved in more than three dozen mergers & acquisitions transactions during the course of his career, and has been a key member in raising over $1 billion in equity, pipes, factoring, bonds, debt and grant financing. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society and the CFA Society of Chicago.
