Biography

William Conway is currently the Alderman of the 34th Ward and Vice Chair of the Finance Committee in Chicago City Council. He previously founded and ran a solar development company that helps schools and others develop solar solutions to reduce their energy costs and climate impact. He previously worked at JP Morgan in the investment bank, handling mergers & acquisitions and debt and equity financing for industrial companies. He also ​was deployed to Afghanistan and Qatar as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy where his work tracking the Taliban's funding was featured in the New York Times. Prior to that, Conway worked as a prosecutor at the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, prosecuting public corruption and financial crimes cases.​
