Biography

Christine Gimbar is an associate professor of accounting and management information systems at DePaul University. She graduated from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business in 2015 with a doctorate in accounting and information systems. Gimbar holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Scranton and a master’s of accounting from Virginia Tech. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, Gimbar worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York City and McLean, Va., where she gained extensive audit experience as a manager on large, public clients in the entertainment, media and hospitality markets. Gimbar is a licensed CPA in New York and Virginia.

Gimbar's research interests include various aspects of audit quality, such as auditor-client interactions, the audit review process and fraud identification. Her research has been published in The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Behavioral Research in Accounting, and Current Issues in Auditing. Her teaching interests include auditing and financial accounting.
