Biography

Edward Doyle is an adjunct professor at DePaul University where he teaches undergraduate and Master of Accountancy (MACC) classes specializing in audit, data analytics and internal controls within accounting information systems. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago. He has taught at DePaul University for more than 15 years, instructing courses in Auditing, Accounting and Management Science, as well as conducting the auditing and attestation section of DePaul's CPA Exam Review Program.

As a consultant with both Arthur Andersen and KPMG, he has assisted Fortune 500 clients in highly regulated industries such as financial services and energy. He has worked with clients on identifying risk, developing risk scenarios, and navigating the labyrinth of compliance and regulatory requirements.

He has also worked within companies as a Vice-President of Internal Audit, responsible for the establishment of internal controls and ensuring compliance with the COSO integrated framework and regulatory requirements. He has been responsible for the implementation of data analytics technology to increase the capabilities of identifying potential errors or fraud that would not be identified with more traditional audit procedures. Edward brings a combination of fundamental academic knowledge and practical experience to the classroom.

Edward has presented to delegations from Chinese municipal governments on U.S. audit methodologies and to Chinese business executives on the underlying market economic conditions that create differences in financial reporting in the U.S. and China.

Edward is involved in the DePaul community as a mentor in DePaul's ASK program. He is involved in the broader community serving on the Board of Trustees of St. Francis College Prep.
