Biography

Nina Diamond joined DePaul following a successful career as a corporate executive, having held senior mark​eting and general management positions at Pillsbury/General Mills, Dow Chemical and Whirlpool, where she was a corporate officer and general manager of the Kitchenaid major appliance business.

She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in marketing strategy, new product and service management, market research, customer behavior, and consumer culture, and has been published in top tier academic journals including the Journal of Marketing and the Journal of Retailing.

Diamond has won several research awards, including the Sage Best Paper Award for the Article of the Year, Emerald Executive Review Board Citation of Excellence for one of the top 50 out of 5,000 articles in Management, and the William R. Davidson Award for the Best Paper Contributing to Theory and Practice in Retail Marketing. Her DePaul University honors include the Driehaus College of Business Lawrence W. Ryan Distinguished Teaching Award and the Via Sapientiae Award for Lifetime Achievement (highest honor offered to faculty).

While a tenured professor at DePaul, Diamond partnered with a boutique consulting and market research firm based in the Bay Area, working with a variety of clients, including Microsoft, eBay/Paypal, Mars/Masterfoods, Clorox, Procter & Gamble, Loreal, Bain Consulting, Coleman and VISA, on marketing strategy, branding, new product and service development, and marketing communication projects. She also served as a Board and Executive Committee member of Accion Chicago, a nonprofit micro finance organization.​
