Each year, Center for Sales Leadership students contribute to the goals of the Sid Feldman Legacy Fund, a scholarship charity, by sponsoring Chicago public high school students to receive partial funding for four years of tuition at DePaul University.
Clancy Ryan, instructor at DePaul, decided to challenge his college students to address this issue and create positive change in Chicago while developing their sales skills through the Sid Feldman Legacy Fund project.
The purpose of this project is to provide a real-life selling experience to DePaul students enrolled in the MKT 377 Fundamentals of Sales & Networking class. The students are challenged to raise the money necessary to sponsor the education for two Chicago Public School students every year.
This unique selling opportunity gives students a chance to learn valuable sales skills as well as develop compassion, understanding and empathy towards others. It seeks to help students understand the social impact businesses and individuals can have and helps create socially responsible business leaders.
Most importantly, the fund embodies the Vincentian principles of the university — providing access to education for all. DePaul students are rising to the challenge of helping others gain the same education opportunities they experience now.
