Integrated Marketing Education (IME), the honors sequence in Marketing, gives a select group of undergraduate students a hands-on opportunity to develop skills in marketing management while interacting with a Chicago-area business. If selected, you will join an exclusive cohort of approximately 30 students to participate in the year-long program with three professors dedicated to aiding you through one-on-one career guidance.
Instead of a series of classes that address a single marketing function, the IME cohort consults with different clients each quarter that address marketing issues in the way that managers are likely to encounter them. You'll leave the program with three diverse consulting projects in your portfolio that span from B2B to international marketing.
“Working as a client for the IME program was both an enlightening and rewarding experience. The students were able to easily adapt to our changing needs as a company, deliver useful consumer data and propose refined solutions that meet the needs of our consumers. The program delivered tailored results that are still being used to this day across our multiple brands. For the small investment to participate in the program, we gained significantly more than if we had gone with a more expensive agency.”
Graduates of our IME program have worked at:
"The IME program is the best way to learn the skills you need to actually prepare you for a job and build confidence. It's an experience that lasts longer than just those three quarters in the classroom. A big reason I'm in my current role is due to IME connections. Almost two years later, many people who were in my graduating class are still very much in my life."
"In the IME program, we got the opportunity to work with real clients from around the world and solve their current challenges as well as professors who have a deep expertise in this industry. I use the skills I gained from each project to better serve my client, and offer a level of insight grounded in market understanding, data, and the ability to think critically. I feel comfortable presenting and collaborating with my client’s executives daily because this program gave me the confidence and trust in myself to do so."
IME students are selected on a competitive basis. The evaluation is based on an interview, writing sample and performance in previous marketing and other coursework. Classes are limited in size and offered only once per year. Admission is by application and interview and application deadlines are always
