Non-credit students do not qualify for financial aid. However, the financial investment in a non-credit DePaul certificate program is considerably less than that of a degree-seeking program.

Yes. Our Digital Marketing Strategy Certificate Program qualifies for WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) funding.  In order to find out if you qualify for financial assistance, you must first contact Workforce Development. As a certified program under the ILLINOIS workNet initiative, this program has been approved for workforce training grants for those who are eligible. Funding may be available for those receiving unemployment benefits. Please contact Workforce Development for more information.

Online synchronous learning refers to real-time, interactive classes where students and instructors participate together at the same scheduled time using a Zoom platform. Through online synchronous learning we emphasize real-time participation and interaction, making it ideal for participants who benefit from structured schedules, immediate feedback, and collaborative engagement.

A Flex (commonly referred to in the literature as “HyFlex”) course is taught in a technology-enhanced classroom that allows for students and guests to remotely connect via Zoom and actively participate with students and faculty in the physical classroom. This modality is highly desired by students who enjoy learning in the classroom but want the flexibility to connect online when work or family responsibilities prevent them from traveling to campus. You can attend on campus or remotely via Zoom. You don’t need to commit to one particular mode of attendance – you can choose on the day what works best for you.

Yes. You can attend remotely for all classes over the six weeks, or for some. You will need a computer (webcam, microphone, speakers) running the current version of Zoom to connect.

There are no books required for our courses. Comprehensive handouts and videos are provided in our classes.

When you register for a course, you will be granted access to the University’s online learning management system (LMS), called “D2L”, which allows you to access all course materials, assignments, videos, quizzes, and projects, and to communicate with your instructor and classmates electronically. 

You will need access to a computer (Windows or macOS) and a reliable (broadband) connection to the internet. You should bring a laptop to campus, but it is not required.

No, but some have been approved for continuing education units (CEUs). These classes are professional education classes, with different requirements than courses taken for academic credit.

Class size is limited to allow for a more interactive environment in the classroom. Most classes have fewer than twenty students.
