Biography
Antonio Morales-Pita is an instructor of economics in the Drie
haus College of Business. He has been at DePaul since 1999 and teaches principles of macroeconomics.
Morales-Pita was a professor and agricultural and environmental scientist at the University of Havana in Cuba, the Autonomous University of Yucatan, and the Merida’s Institute of Technology in Mexico.
Morales-Pita received awards for outstanding professor and researcher from the Cuban Higher Education System, the Cuban Academy of Sciences, the Union of University Teachers of Cuba, and the University of Havana. He received the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2007 and the Media Star Award in 2008 from DePaul.
Morales-Pita has presented at least 120 papers in seminars in Cuba, Ukraine, Scotland, Mexico, Australia, Dubai and the United States and has published approximately 150 papers related to the application of mathematics to economics and environment.
