Ronald Marcuson is a retired tax partner from Ernst & Young, LLP where he worked for 30 years (20 as a partner). While at Ernst & Young, LLP, Ron represented multi-national clients in all aspects of tax planning, including international planning, bankruptcy, mergers and acquisitions, ASC 740, consolidated return issues and NOL planning.
Since his retirement, Marcuson has been the director of the Master in Science of Taxation Program at DePaul University, where he teaches courses in courses in corporate reorganizations, consolidated returns and a seminar on current problems in taxation. In addition, he is an adjunct faculty member at Golden Gate University where he teaches consolidated returns and mergers and acquisitions in their Cyber University. Marcuson is a member of the AICPA and Illinois CPA Society, where he served on the Business Tax Committee and International Tax Committee. He speaks at various conferences and writes and/or reviews material for various journals. His most current publication is the first in a series of articles dealing with tax planning with respect to an insolvent subsidiary in a consolidated group which appeared in Taxes Magazine.
Finally, while in "retirement," he has maintained an active consulting business including representing a public company in bankruptcy.
