Mission
The Arditti Center for Risk Management aims to promote excellence in the education, research and practice of risk management. The center will fulfill this mission by:
- Leading the design and implementation of a state-of the-art curriculum in risk management
- Implementing an applied research agenda that encourages innovations in the field
- Collaborating with industry partners that allow students to apply skills learned in the classroom to real-world problems while earning academic credit and giving companies talented resources to deal with risk management issues.
History
The Department of Finance & Real Estate established the Arditti Center for Risk Management with a grant from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Trust in 2006. The center honors Fred Arditti's lifetime achievements and to continue the important work in risk management in the areas of education, research and practice.
Arditti's work embodied a passion for innovative thinking and practical benefit to commerce and markets. He was passionate about bridging the gap between academia and the industry, about educating students who can "do things," and producing rigorous, innovative research that is first and foremost practical.
