When does the Keeley Academy begin?
Each new cohort starts in January with the beginning of the Winter Quarter.
How long does each Keeley Academy cohort last?
Each Keeley Academy cohort lasts 15 months. It begins in Jamuary and ends the following March. Note that there are program requirements to fulfill in the summer as well as the December Intercession.
How often does the Keeley Academy meet?
Most of the Academy activities will take place on Thursday evenings between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm at the DePaul Center; certain Academy activities may be held at alternative times and will be communicated in advance. All Academy students need to ensure that they are available on Thursday evenings to attend in-person.
The Keeley Academy meets every Thursday evening during the Academic Year (AQ, WQ, and SQ) from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Additionally, there are weekend requirements once or twice per quarter. There are also a number of opportunities to meet with various firms that are scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings.
Who is eligible to apply?
Sophomores and Juniors who are Finance Majors. The program is strictly for undergraduates.
Prospective Keeley Academy students must have completed FIN 250/396, FIN 310, and ACC 304 by the end of the Autumn Quarter prior to the beginning of the Keeley Academy.
Minimum DePaul GPA of 3.0.
How many students are admitted into each cohort?
Approximately 40 students are admitted into each new cohort.
How does the admission process work to getinto the Keeley Academy?
Eligible students will first attend an Information Session in mid-October.
The next step is to complete a Written Application; such Written Application will be reviewed by the Executive Director and the Program Manager of the Keeley Center. Applications may be accepted or rejected based on the strength or weakness of the application.
Students whose Written Application is accepted will then enter a potential three round interview process with Keeley Academy graduates that are still DePaul students, Keeley alums working in financial services, and finally with the Executive Director and Program Manager.
Final admission decisions will be communicated by the end of November.
What are the ongoing academic requirements?
The Keeley Academy has been purposefully structured to complement and supplement elective intermediate finance and accounting courses. Admitted Keeley Academy students will complete their Finance major by taking the major required courses and the expected/recommended courses that align with their applicable career focus.
Students are required to maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative DePaul GPA and Finance GPA throughout the duration of the Academy. If a student receives a D or F in any Finance class, the student will be asked to leave the Keeley Academy.

The second step of the application process will require you to submit a written application, which will be reviewed by the Keeley Center Academy Admissions Committee.
Your application may be admitted or rejected based on the strength or weakness of your application. If the Academy Admissions Committee decides that you would benefit from an interview, then the third step is for you to be invited for an interview.
Finally, the fourth step is for the Academy Admissions Committee to make admission decisions.
