Got an idea for an innovative new product or new service?

The 7th Annual Student Innovation Awards Competition is now accepting nominations for this year's competition with the theme of Product and Service Innovation. Scholarship prizes will be awarded from a pool of $3,000!

For more information about the competition, check out these FAQs:

What should the focus of my nomination be?

Nominations should be focused on the innovative idea for a new product or service, not on forming a new business.

How do I get started?

Once you have an idea for a new product or service, do some preliminary market research and narrow your focus by detailing the features that make your innovation unique. Think about how your product or service addresses an opportunity or solves a problem. Who is your target market? Who are your potential competitors?

Do you accept team nominations?

Yes. Teams of no more than two people can submit nominations.

Do I have to be a DePaul Business student in order to participate?

No. All DePaul undergraduate and graduate students from all colleges and majors are welcome and encouraged to participate.

If I win the competition, will I have a chance to present my new product or service?

Yes! We will be hosting the Student Innovation Awards Ceremony on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 3-5 p.m. at the DePaul Center, Loop Campus, room 8005. Competition finalists will have an opportunity to present their new product or service to fellow DePaul students and faculty, as well as members of the Chicago business community. All winners must be present for the awards ceremony.

When you're ready to submit your nomination, click here: SIA Nomination Form, to be directed to the Wufoo online form. Deadline for submission is January 31, 2017.
