Biography
Laura Owen is a professor emerita in the Department of Economics at the Driehaus College of Business. Owen began teaching at DePaul in 1990, and taught courses on the principles of macroeconomics, labor economics, American economic history, and behavioral economics.
Owen's research interests include American economic history, U.S. labor history, industrial relations and American studies. Her work has been published in the Journal of Economic History, Industrial and Corporate Change, and the Oxford Encyclopedia of Economic History.
Owen is the recipient of numerous honors, grants and awards, including the DePaul University Research Council Leave, the Faculty Summer Research Grant, and the Gerald Paetsch Academic Advising Award. She served as the advisor for Liberal Arts & Sciences economics majors since 1991.
