Diversity at Driehaus
At the Driehaus College of Business, we’re committed to supporting diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) in our academic community. We seek to ensure that our students feel welcomed and empowered to become socially responsible business leaders who value diverse perspectives. Guided by DePaul’s Vincentian values, our college fulfills this commitment through:
Student Engagement
At DePaul, you’ll be welcomed into a diverse community of learners in the heart of a multicultural city. All first-year students enroll in a class that introduces them to Chicago’s diverse and vibrant cultures. We also connect you to service learning opportunities through the DePaul Steans Center. Throughout your time here, you'll find support and community at DePaul's cultural centers, as well as opportunities to expand your networks and friendships in our undergraduate and graduate business student organizations, including organizations that serve underrepresented communities.
Curriculum & Centers
As a student, you’ll have opportunities to build your skills while creating solutions for social issues in the real world. We require all students enrolled in our
Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB) to complete an interdisciplinary course on business for social good, which explores how modern business can address critical social and environmental issues. Our
Coleman Entrepreneurship Center and
Women in Entrepreneurship Institute complement the curriculum by offering opportunities for you to develop businesses with social impact.
Partnerships
To ensure equal access for current and future students, we regularly partner with corporations, local organizations and nonprofits to create a future pipeline of diverse talent. These collaborations enable us to offer scholarships, career education and mentor programs for students from underrepresented communities.
Our DEI Vision
The Driehaus College of Business is committed to fostering an inclusive community for students, staff and faculty. We aspire to create a diverse student body reflecting the richness of the community in which we operate. We promise on-going evaluation, continuous improvement and transparent communication of our college policies, practices and programs, including those related to recruitment, retention, mentoring and leadership development for students, faculty and staff. Through these efforts, we will create a culture of inclusion in which all students, staff and faculty feel welcomed and empowered with the support and resources needed to thrive.
