Biography

Joe Veverka has been teaching various courses for the Department of Marketing as part of the digital marketing concentration at the Driehaus College of Business as an adjunct faculty instructor since 2019. Veverka earned his MBA and a Master of Science in Marketing at the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and graduated “With Distinction” and is a proud DePaul alumnus.

Professionally, Veverka has 20+ years of experience as strategy, operations, digital media, advertising, marketing, and technology and currently works at Microsoft Advertising’s Global Sales Strategy & Business Excellence organization and excels at leveraging multidisciplinary range to formulate strategy, articulate vision and execute against evolving business needs based on industry transformation to senior leaders by utilizing creativity, tenacity, collaboration, humility, and empathy to drive innovative solutions and highly successful outcomes.

Veverka started his career at Microsoft as a client analyst, spearheading the largest portfolio of top advertisers in Global Media Sales of $450 million. In this role, Veverka helped top global brands via complex analytical capabilities and frameworks to drive innovative paid search strategies. In 2017 Joe then transitioned to a senior program management role to broaden impact across the Microsoft advertising platform, which played an instrumental role in generating mutual value for clients and Microsoft Advertising’s $13B marketplace.

Veverka’s deep experience at navigating challenging net-new business problems and top-line opportunity identification in ambiguous environments at global scale cross-organizationally as earned him 17 awards in eight​ years at Microsoft ranging from role excellence, crafting insightful consumer analytics, to successful program management of high-profile large scope partnerships like Roku, Netflix, SNAP, Open AI, and others. Culturally, Veverka is recognized as  allyship leader for DE&I initiatives with deep cross-function collaboration, coaching, mentorship, and proliferation of inclusive behavior to promote belonging and equity in the workplace.

Prior to Microsoft, Veverka held various creative and digital positions over 13 years that encompassed user experience (UX) mobile platform design and usability, search engine marketing and paid search, search engine optimization, social media advertising, streaming video and audio, and emerging and traditional media supporting various sales motions.
