Biography

Kirsten Fanning teaches managerial accounting to undergraduate students as well as financial and managerial accounting to MBA students. Prior to joining DePaul, Fanning served as a faculty member at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Villanova University. She earned her PhD in accounting with a minor area in psychology at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Fanning is an award-winning scholar with research publications in prestigious academic journals, including The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Accounting Horizons, and Journal of Financial Reporting. Her research uses experimental methods to examine how accounting information and its presentation influence investors’ and managers' judgments and decisions.
