Michael T. Mitchell, PhD, MBA, is an instructor at the Driehaus College of Business with more than 35 years of business experience and nearly 20 years of teaching experience. He has taught both undergraduate and MBA business courses including innovation, entrepreneurship, marketing, global marketing and leadership. His has taught at the University of Dayton, Loyola University and the Center for Creative Leadership. He has also taught in the US and around the world, including Germany, China and India.
Mitchell’s business experience includes leadership positions in advertising, marketing and consulting. He has also worked in the consumer packaged goods industry, as well as in the manufacturing, creative services/advertising, consumer durables, technology, agriculture, medical, insurance, finance, utilities and retail industries, among others.
Innovation is a focus of Mitchell’s career, expertise and research. Having held critical roles in innovation and consulting assignments for a variety of Fortune 500 companies, Mitchell brings real-world experience combined with the perspective of a researcher in the field of innovation. His research and reputation in the field of innovation makes him a thorough leader, instructor and keynote speaker.
His articles and interviews have appeared in publications such as Forbes, Talent Quarterly, the American Marketing Association, The Everyday Innovator Podcast, Business Journal of America, and in the Center for Creative Leadership publications, as well as academic journals such as the Journal of Innovation and Sustainability. His research examines innovators in large organizations and innovation leadership.
