Biography

Richard (Dick) Anderson is a Clinical Professor in the Center for Strategy, Execution and Valuation and the Strategic Risk Management Lab at DePaul University and is a retired Partner at PwC.

Anderson has a diverse background in the financial and professional services industries. At PwC, he was a regional leader in the Financial Services Advisory practice, consulting with major financial services organizations on internal auditing practices, risk management and audit committee activities. Prior to joining PwC, he headed two internal audit functions including serving as global head of internal audit and credit review for a major U.S. bank.

At DePaul University, Anderson researches, writes and lectures on strategic risk management and internal audit topics. He is the co-author of Strategic Risk Management: A Primer for Directors and Management Team (2011); Assessing and Managing Strategic Risks (to be published fall 2017); Embracing ERM: Practical Approaches to Getting Started; and Imperatives for Change: The IIA’s Global Internal Audit Survey in Action, published by the IIA.

He was the 2011 recipient of the IIA’s Bradford Cadmus Memorial Award, their highest award, which honors individuals making the greatest contribution to the advancement of the global internal audit profession.
