Biography
Warren Solochek is currently an instructor in the Department of Marketing at the Driehaus College of Business. Solochek has been teaching Introduction to Marketing Research at DePaul since the start of 2020, where his focus is on modern consumer research methodology and use of insights.
In addition to teaching at DePaul, Solochek owns his own consulting company which focuses on the commercial food service industry. In addition to his client project work, Solochek is an ongoing contributor to Foodservice Equipment & Supplies, a top-trade publication produced for restaurant designers, food service equipment suppliers and service providers.
Prior to starting his consulting practice, Solochek was a senior executive in The NPD Group’s food service division from 2003 through 2018, including several years as the division president. While at NPD, his responsibilities included overseeing relationships with all existing food service clients, both major national restaurant chains and their food and beverage suppliers, as well as helping to secure new users of NPD’s multiple food industry services. He was also a member of NPD’s Global food service development team. Solochek also acted as NPD’s industry expert for NPD clients and at multiple industry events each year.
Prior to coming to NPD, Solochek spent five years (1998 to 2003) running client services and managing product development at Concept Shopping, Inc. The company was a venture-funded, startup-consumer promotions company which utilized retailer loyalty card data to deliver personalized promotions to shoppers. From 1981 to 1997, Solochek worked at Information Resources, Inc., a leader in providing food manufacturers and grocery retailers with industry insights. His last position there was senior vice president of client service.
