Biography
Brett Baden is an instructor of economics at the
Driehaus College of Business. Baden
is an applied data science lead at Civis Analytics. At Civis, Baden
is a principal architect for data science services for a portfolio of clients
in consumer-packaged goods, technology and real estate. He works as a business development
and analytic lead for new and existing clients in these areas, working with
a dedicated sales team to demonstrate data science capabilities and execute
analyses.
Baden was a director of analytics in data science at Nielsen, working with national consumer and media market data. Before
Nielsen, Baden worked as
senior economist for the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning as an
environmental economics consultant, and as an economics professor in the Tufts
University policy and planning department. He has several published papers in
applied environmental and urban economics. Baden received a PhD from the University
of Chicago in 2001.
Baden teaches courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, business conditions
analysis and applied statistics/analytics.
