Christine Gimbar recently graduated from Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business with a doctoral degree in Accounting and Information Systems. Christine holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Scranton and a master's of accounting from Virginia Tech. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, Christine worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York, NY and McLean, VA where she gained extensive audit experience as a manager on large, public clients in the entertainment, media and hospitality markets. Christine is a licensed CPA in New York and Virginia.
Since returning to academia, Christine's research interests include various aspects of audit quality, such as auditor-client interactions, the audit review process and fraud identification. Her research has been published in The Accounting Review and Current Issues in Auditing. Her teaching interests and experiences include auditing and financial accounting.
