Biography
Eileen Marutzky has served on the faculty at DePaul University for more than 25 years. She teaches courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels in the School of Accountancy & MIS. She received her bachelor's degree in accountancy from DePaul University, her law degree from Kent College of Law at Illinois Institute of Technology and is a registered CPA in Illinois.
Having recently retired from the practice of law, Marutzky worked as senior litigation counsel and deputy chief assistant U.S. attorney for 30 years with the Department of Justice in Chicago. In addition to the preparation and trial of cases, she instructed nationwide Department of Justice attorneys in trial preparation, strategy, techniques, negotiations and appellate advocacy. While there, she was the recipient of numerous awards, including two U.S. Attorney General's Special Commendation Awards and a Special Achievement Award for Sustained Superior Performance.
