Biography

Geoffrey Knoerzer is an instructor at DePaul University and holds a similar position at Lewis University. He is currently teaching technology courses in the MBA program at DePaul in ecommerce and i​nformation technology operational management.

Knoerzer also held the position of vice president and chief information officer for the Midwest area at Verizon Wireless for six years. During his assignment, he was a member of the Senior Management team, responsible for the conversion of Midwest area markets to the Verizon Wireless directional information technology systems (25 billing conversions) and transitioning 10 of the legacy companies to Verizon Wireless. He also held the position of vice president and chief information officer at Afni, Inc. headquartered in Bloomington, Ill.

Knoerzer has experience in information technology, concentrated in the area of high volume, financial transactions, ecommerce, BSS/OSS, financial and customer support systems. Knoerzer also has a background in the telecommunications industry supporting multiple technology service offerings.  He was instrumental in planning and providing the first support systems for the FCC commercial trial of AMPS cellular service in 1978 in Chicago. He has demonstrated his ability to translate complex technology challenges into positive, profit-generating contributions to company objectives in telecommunications, logistics, health care and financial industries.
