Biography

Haritima Chauhan joined DePaul in 2025.  She is a behavioral scientist studying how investor networks, sentiment, and consumer preferences shape financial markets and macroeconomic fluctuations. She also explores the influence of generative AI and other behavioral interventions on strategic interactions, decision-making, and pro-social behavior. Her methodological expertise includes causal econometric models, forecasting, AI and deep learning, NLP, machine learning, and optimization algorithms.

She teaches courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, Python programming, data visualization, big data, and cloud tools, as well as predictive modeling and forecasting.  Chauhan also has experience mentoring student research and guiding student engagement. 

Before joining DePaul, Chauhan was an Associate professor at Western Illinois University. She has also worked with several Fortune 500 companies across sectors, advising on a variety of business problems, including revenue forecasting, predictive modeling, inventory optimization, predictive maintenance, entity segmentation, supplier selection, performance evaluation, and bargaining solutions. She is also a founding member of the Behavioral Economics and Organization Research Group (BEORG). ​
