Hongjun Yan is a teacher and scholar who specializes in behavioral finance, which studies the psychological aspects of financial decision-making. Yan's research focuses on asset pricing in the presence of frictions, including market imperfections and bounded rationality. His studies have been published in the Review of Financial Studies, Review of Economic Studies, Management Science and Review of Finance, among other journals. He also serves as associate editor of the Journal of Banking and Finance and a referee for numerous journals.
Yan has presented his scholarly work at finance and economics conferences around the world. He is the winner of the 2013 Management Science Meritorious Service Award and the NASDAQ OMX Award for the Best Paper on Asset Pricing presented at the Western Finance Association's 2011 conference.
