Joseph W. Thompson is a director at The Griffing Group and an adjunct professor at DePaul University. Thompson has more than 15 years of experience as a professional in the finance industry and has performed valuation and damages analyses for commercial litigation, estate and gift taxation, employee stock ownership plan compliance, derivative pricing and purchase price allocation.

Thompson has been retained to provide expert witness testimony for plaintiffs and defendants in a number of jurisdictions, including the U.S. District Court, the Delaware Court of Chancery, the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Illinois Circuit Courts and arbitration hearings.

Prior to working at The Griffing Group, Thompson worked for several years at Goldman Sachs as an options trader, trading equity and index options (and related futures) on the CBOE, CME, ISE and BOX exchanges, and acted as the designated primary market maker in certain markets. In addition, Thompson worked for seven years at Duff & Phelps in the Disputes Advisory practice.
