Laura Owen is an Associate Professor of Economics at DePaul University. She is also the Director of the Undergraduate Economics Program at DePaul. Laura has been teaching at DePaul since 1990.
Laura's research interests are in American economic history, U.S. labor history, industrial relations and American studies. Her work has been published in the Journal of Economic History, Industrial and Corporate Change and the Oxford Encyclopedia of Economic History.
Laura is the recipient of numerous honors, grants and awards at DePaul, including the DePaul University Research Council Leave and the Faculty Summer Research Grant. She has also served as the advisor for Liberal Arts & Sciences Economics Majors since 1991.
Laura received her bachelor's degree in economics from Vassar College, and earned both her master's and PhD in economics from Yale University. She teaches courses on the Principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Labor Economics, American Economic History and Behavioral Economics.
