Mary Mindak is an Assistant Professor in the School of Accountancy & MIS at DePaul University. She received her PhD in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati in 2009. She previously worked at Ernst & Young LLP as an auditor and at Western & Southern Life Insurance Company in the accounting department as a Strategic GAAP Analyst. Professor Mindak received her Certified Public Accounting certificate in 2006. She is also actively involved as the faculty advisor for the DECA student organization at DePaul.
Professor Mindak teaches Financial Reporting I and Auditing II classes at DePaul University. Her research interests focus primarily on the areas of audit risk, bankruptcy, corporate environmental responsibility, and fraud and forensic accounting. Her research also focuses on developing case study materials in the areas of auditing and forensic accounting. She has published in numerous peer reviewed journals including Issues in Accounting Education, Journal of Accounting, Ethics and Public Policy, Research in Accounting Regulation, Managerial Auditing Journal, the CPA Journal and CMA Magazine.
