Biography

Rachel Canfora is an adjunct professor at the School of Hospitality Leadership. She has been in the hospitality and service industry for the past 10 years and is currently the Director of Recruiting, Training, and Development for Hogsalt, a national restaurant group with over 20 concepts. Her previous working experience includes working for One Off Hospitality and BOKA Restaurant Group in Chicago, Illinois.

Canfora began her career in the service industry as a line cook after realizing her true passion after graduating college was food and hospitality. She enrolled in the certificate program at Le Cordon Bleu Chicago and began working for Erling Wu Bower and Kim Leali at Nico Osteria as one of their first culinary interns. From that point forward, she knew there were no bounds and explored almost every role and opportunity in restaurant operations, including front-of-house management. She eventually got her Masters in Science at the School of Hospitality Leadership at DePaul University and found her niche in educating fellow industry leaders on topics such as authentic and transformational leadership. She continues to promote how these organizational behaviors truly affect workplace culture in the restaurant industry at Hogsalt every day and is excited to share her own leadership experiences with the students at DePaul University.
