The Driehaus College of Business was recognized in 54 degree categories of Diverse Issues in Higher Education’s recently released “Top 100 Degree Producers” survey. The annual national rankings list the top 100 universities in the U.S. that produce the most baccalaureate and master’s graduates of color by academic discipline.
The college’s notable rankings for graduating students of color included:
- No. 6 - master’s graduates in finance and financial management services
- No. 8 - master’s graduates in marketing
- No. 18 - Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB) graduates in accounting and related services
- No. 18 - master’s graduates in hospitality administration/management
- No. 19 - BSB graduates in finance and financial management services
- No. 21 - BSB graduates in marketing
- No. 22 - master’s graduates in accounting and related services
- No. 24 - BSB graduates in business, management and related support services
- No. 27 - master’s graduates in business, management and related support services
The rankings were based on 2019 Department of Education graduation data.
“We are encouraged by our standing in these rankings,” says Professor Sandra Shelton, chair of the college’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. “However, it is clear that work remains to be done.” The committee and Interim Dean Thomas Donley are focused on extending the college’s community outreach, she adds, “to expand the presence of underrepresented groups at all levels of the college — from students to faculty, staff and administration.”
