Start the New Year by Enrolling in the DePaul Weekend MBA

Is 2019 the year you’ll start your MBA? If your New Year’s resolution is to advance your career by earning a graduate business degree, the DePaul Weekend MBA program may be the right choice for you.

The two-year program on DePaul’s Loop Campus in downtown Chicago allows professionals to keep working full-time as they study for their degrees. In the following Q&A, Christa Hinton (MBA ’98, EDD ’12), assistant dean and director of the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business explains the advantages of this program.

What are the benefits of the DePaul Weekend MBA program?

The Weekend MBA offers ultimate flexibility for busy professionals through a hybrid format, which means that students attend in-class Saturday sessions in the Loop two times per month and complete assignments and projects online the other two Saturdays.

We keep class sizes small and students study with a dedicated group of peers, which offers an opportunity to grow professional networks. The curriculum emphasizes management and leadership skills that are sought-after in business.

What kind of students enroll in the program?

This program appeals to professionals who seek to earn a high-quality, practical MBA in a flexible schedule. If students live and work far from the Loop and potentially find it difficult to attend weekday classes in the evening downtown, the DePaul Weekend MBA is a great option. Additionally, if students travel for work or have family commitments, the weekend schedule is very appealing.

What should prospective students know about applying for the Weekend MBA?

The online application process is very straightforward and easy to navigate: grad.depaul.edu/apply.  The program starts in the fall, but students may submit their applications any time of year. We encourage students to apply as early as possible, however, to ensure their spot in the next class.

How can prospective students learn more?

We encourage prospective students to attend the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business in-person information session Jan. 12 or participate in an online information session for the Weekend MBA on Jan. 19.

Kellstadt will host additional admission events later this winter and throughout the year. Click here to find our more.
