DePaul University Professor and School of Accountancy & MIS Director Hui Lin has been named the Deloitte Foundation Endowed Professor, effective July 1, 2023.
The Deloitte Foundation Endowed Professorship was established through contributions from partners, principals, managing directors and employees of
Deloitte LLP and its subsidiaries combined with matching gifts from the
Deloitte Foundation. The professorship was championed by DePaul alumni and Deloitte & Touche LLP partners Brian Ruben and Tyson May. Ruben serves on the
Driehaus College of Business Advisory Council and May serves on the board for
Ledger & Quill, which is the donor society for the School of Accountancy & MIS. The five-year appointment elevates what was previously the Deloitte Foundation Fellowship at DePaul.
“I am incredibly honored to receive this prestigious recognition," Lin says. “My deep gratitude to Brian and Tyson for their generosity and confidence in my contributions to DePaul and the academic community. The Deloitte Foundation has done remarkable work in accelerating diversity, innovation and excellence in accounting education. I will continue to do my best in exemplifying the values of the Deloitte Foundation and the mission of DePaul University."
Lin joined DePaul's faculty in 2008 and became director of the
School of Accountancy & MIS in July 2022. Throughout her 15 years at the university, she has distinguished herself as a leader, heading the Driehaus Center for International Business since fall 2020 and serving as the Associate Director of Regional Initiatives, China, for DePaul from 2016 to 2022. She is also a widely published scholar and an award-winning teacher who received DePaul Excellence in Teaching Awards in 2014 and 2022.
“We are excited to support such a passionate academic leader to help inspire and develop future students coming into the accounting profession," says Ruben.
“I want to thank the Deloitte DePaul alumni community and the Deloitte Foundation for their generous support for our programs and faculty, and express my gratitude to Brian and Tyson for their tireless effort to make this endowed professorship a reality," says Sulin Ba, dean of the Driehaus College of Business. “Support like this enables us to continue to strive for excellence in all we do."
