A Master of Science in Management is becoming an increasingly popular degree at America's business schools, according to Forbes magazine. The reason why is simple.
Programs such as DePaul's
MS in Management allow students who do not have an extensive business background to get a head start on a lucrative business career.
Students enrolled in the MS in Management program at the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business learn critical business skills, including supply chain economics, management of human capital, organizational structure and governance, and how to innovate in the workplace.
"The program provides students with a deep understanding of business management in a short time frame," says Scott Young, chair of DePaul's Department of Management.

The full-time, cohort program allows students to finish the degree in as little as one year. That's a great benefit, says Eddie Hagan, who is currently enrolled in the program.
Hagan recently graduated from DePaul with his bachelor's degree in economics. But he had a strong desire to enter the business world and wanted a graduate program that would build upon the skills he learned as an undergraduate.
"DePaul's MS in Management program really helps you build your leadership skills," says Hagan. "It has several benefits, including the fact that is concentrated and does not require much work experience to enroll."
In addition, recent DePaul graduates who enroll in the program automatically receive the Double Demon scholarship that covers 25 percent of tuition costs for the graduate degree.
Young says research shows that the consumer goods and consulting industries are the fields that hire the most MS in Management graduates, but industries such as banking and finance, health care and hospitality also are recruiting these graduates.
"I definitely recommend this program to people who are certain they want to be a manager in the business world," says Hagan. "And if you're looking for a job in Chicago you can't underestimate the value of the DePaul alumni network."
