Real Estate Alumni

The real estate program in the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business is ranked No. 1 by alumni while recruiters scored it highest for real estate in a Crain's Chicago Business MBA survey. In addition to a robust curriculum, the Department of Real Estate strives to maintain a strong network of DePaul alumni who are active in the real estate industry. We maintain these relationships by engaging alums through the DePaul Real Estate Alumni Alliance (DREAA), the student mentorship program, classroom guest speaker opportunities, and continuing and professional education and conferences.

"My accomplishments in real estate are entirely attributable to the relationships that I developed at the DePaul Real Estate Center with fellow students, alumni and staff members. Through my continued engagement with the DePaul Real Estate Alumni Alliance, I now have a network within the Chicago real estate community that I consider to be of the highest caliber. I have turned to the Real Estate Center on several occasions to find potential employees, to obtain referrals for consultants, and to gain valuable introductions. It goes without saying that being able to leverage the DePaul network has been an invaluable resource for both me and my company."
— Michael Episcope, DePaul MSRE 2008, Principal, Origin Capital Partners, LLC

"Many people don't have the chance to participate in such a large, influential conference as ULI until they are much further along in their careers, making my attendance a truly invaluable step in the development of my career."
— Amy Krass, DePaul MBA, 2010, Assistant Vice President, Acquisitions, Heitman
Charlie H. Wurtzebach Endowed Travel Scholarship recipient.

"Attending the PREA Conference was incredibly beneficial for me. I saw firsthand the connection between the different disciplines within real estate to those in the broader capital markets. I met key industry leaders and heard experts discuss the significant issues facing the industry now."
— Jan Morel, DePaul MBA 2010, Vice President, Development and Acquisitions, Town Builder Studios
Charlie H. Wurtzebach Endowed Travel Scholarship recipient

"As a graduate, employer and sponsor, I know firsthand the value proposition a DePaul education provides its students. I believe in the real estate program and am committed to ensuring that it continues in its important mission of educating students and professionals alike for successful careers."
— George Ruff, DePaul Graduate 1974, Senior Principal, Trinity Hotel Investors LLC

"The Real Estate Program at DePaul is recognized nationally and internationally. The exposure to Private Equity JV waterfall structures, Acquisition, Disposition, REITS, CMBS, have helped me progress in my career. Upon graduation in 2008, I was recruited by the real estate arm of Dubai's Sovereign Wealth Fund. There I found another DePaul connection, an industry professional who taught real estate development at DePaul and who was spearheading the retail development of Nakheel. My real estate career has been and continues to be shaped by this great Real Estate Center."
— Claudio Sgobba, DePaul MBA 2008, Global Market Analyst, American Invsco

"Traveling to China with the DePaul contingent was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It brought to life many of the concepts and theories we discuss in class. Visiting an emerging global market and immersing ourselves in the culture, even for a short time, provided a perspective that cannot be gained elsewhere."
— Adam Simon, DePaul MBA 2010, Real Estate Analyst, HFF
