The Invest for Kids Summer Investment Challenge is a five day college immersion experience, free of charge, for high school students interested in careers in finance. The program hosts students over five days and four nights on both DePaul's Lincoln Park and Loop campuses where they experience what it's like to be a finance student living on campus and studying in the heart of Chicago's finance community.

Students experience the summer camp in teams, each sponsored by a different partner company.

The curriculum includes experiential learning seminars in financial markets, asset, financial instruments, valuation principles, and financial theory; company visits and industry professionals as guest speakers; and workshops in Excel, Bloomberg terminals, and data analysis. After completing the course work, students use what they learned and pitch stock proposals to a panel of professionals and receive expert feedback.

The Driehaus Capital Management Summer Investment Challenge is led by Professor of Finance Vahap Uysal, whose research focuses on capital structure, mergers and acquisitions and corporate social responsibility.

He has also coached a student team that went on to win first place at the Texas Portfolio Symposium in 2013, and has taught a popular investment seminar that uses an actual stock portfolio to challenge students to analyze securities and recommend what to buy and sell.
