Chicago Financial Institutions Conference

The Department of Finance and the John L. Keeley Jr. Center for Financial Services at DePaul University held the third annual Chicago Financial Institutions Conference on April 5 and 6, 2018. This unique conference brings together academics from around the world to present their research on financial institutions. The complete program  with links to papers, as well as presentation and discussion slides, is available below under 2018 Conference Program.

Highlights:

  • A total of 42 papers were presented and discussed in 14 sessions. The list of sessions included deposit markets, peer-to-peer lending, bank supervision and risk, syndicated lending, debt markets, mutual funds, and a number of others.
  • Keynote speakers included Steven Ongena (University of Zurich) and Mark Flannery (University of Florida).
  • More than 130 people attended the conference, which was held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the University Club in downtown Chicago.
  • Prior to this academic conference, many attendees joined the 11th Annual Risk Management Conference on April 4-5 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Together, these two conferences offer a unique opportunity to connect theory and practice
